Thanksgiving – So Much To Be Thankful For
It’s Thanksgiving morning (about 7:00 a.m.). I’d usually be at work by now (on a ‘regular’ Thursday). It’s quiet at my house – it’s time to look at this holiday, but from more of a work perspective.
Thanksgiving – there are multiple dictionary definitions. They focus on one theme – giving thanks. Some of the definitions are religious in orientation; some of cultural; others are simply ‘thank you’ oriented – for family and friends.
I have three categories for this Thanksgiving Blog entry
Clients:
I want to thank you for putting your trust in us. Finding the right people for your leadership role is a task we take very seriously. That said, you have put your trust in us to find you amazing people that fit your needs, experientially as well as culturally. We are honored that you chose the Abeln, Magy, Underberg & Associates team. We thank you for the faith you put on our work – and we will not let you down.
Candidates and referral sources:
I am one of the people that InMail, e-mail and call you during your day. My team knows you are busy – gainfully, busily and happily doing your work. We are that annoying communication you get. We know the job market is very strong right now. We know we are not the only outreach you are getting. We know you have to do your (current) job. Yet, you take our call, listen to our opportunity and take the time to respond – personally as well as through networking. You even, on occasion, chose to give us feedback – and I do hope that we listen and learn from it. You don’t have to listen to us – but you commonly do. We are truly appreciative.
The Abeln, Magy, Underberg & Associates team:
I feel lucky every day I go into work. I work with a dedicated professional team of people that know the importance of what we do for our clients. We work hard; we laugh, we discuss, and we go about doing what is the best for your clients and candidates. What we do is hard. You could all be employed elsewhere. Thank you for your dedication and hard work.
Okay – a fourth category – my wife/family:
I am thankful every day for an amazing spouse and (now adult) children. All supportive and amazing (my children take after my spouse/their mother – I am lucky). They have supported my/the company through 23+ years (spoiler alert – more to come). I hope I remember to tell you more often how much your support and love means.
Let me end with a simple thank you
Each of you referenced above are an important part of our success. I woke up today feeling thankful. I have infinite reasons to feel that way. If you are reading this, you know you are one of them.
