2010 - what a year (and growing excitement for 2011)!
As I look back over 2010, the terms exciting and exhausting come to mind. The economy was constantly in the news. The best words I have heard to describe our economy are 'sawtooth' and 'lumpy.' One item that we clearly track - the retained search market started to rebound. Is that important? Actually it may be. The retained search industry is typically considered a 6 to 12 month future economic indicator. If history can be a guide, this is a good sign!
So what about 2011?
There appears to be some growing optimism. The economic forecasts are getting (slightly) more positive. While an unscientific sign, companies are celebrating the holidays with their employees - something that was definitely lacking in 2009. All in all, we seem to be moving in a better direction.Looking to the future . . . . .
We started this Blog in December of 2009. Topics we have covered included Employee Engagement, Career Management, Ethics, Social Networking, etc. As we look to 2011, we will continued to discuss these areas. We also want to take a more scheduled and planful approach to the year.- Look for Blog posts on the 15th and last day of every month
- Look for guest writers on varying topics
- Look for book reports (on our website) every four months (the report for the book Never Eat Alone will be posted shortly)
